On behalf of the host chapter for the Fall Conference, Central Lakes Chapter,
HAPPY MEDICAL ASSISTANTS WEEK!
My Fellow Medical Assistants,
I want to take the time to recognize the Medical Assistants in our state. Thank you for all your hard work and professionalism. We are making a difference every day!
Our versatility en-grains us into many facets of the healthcare field. There are so many opportunities for us. Those who broke the trail ahead of us have opened up these opportunities by excelling in our field and fighting for our scope of practice. This is work that is never done; each one of us represents our profession and the gold standard we strive for. The demand for medical assistants across the country speaks to our success.
The path is not always easy and we must stay or get involved to support and promote our profession. To those who have or are currently serving, thank you. I truly appreciate the time and effort you volunteer. Thank you to all who attend our spring and fall conferences. This is a great way to stay up to date and to network with others from around the state. It is also important to join your local chapter and attend those meetings; thanks to those that do. Being active gives us strength. We would not be where we are today without you and what you do.
I guess that is the long way of giving you recognition this week. This is being done as it is our recognition week, but know that these feelings are constant throughout the year. Kudos to all of you!
Charlene Metzer, CMA (AAMA)

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Greetings! I hope you all had a great summer. Like everyone else, I have been busy. I intended to get this out a lot earlier and I apologize that I did not. Hopefully you agree that it is better late than never! With that said, I would like to cover a few things.
First, we have the fall conference quickly approaching. It is on Saturday, October 28th in Baxter. The registration form is now available. Each chapter brings 5 door prizes valued at $10 each. Denise also needs a copy of chapter bylaws turned in to her if that has not already been done. Hope to see you there having fun in flannel!
Second, I would like each chapter to review their information on the website and send in any changes or updates. I get a lot of questions regarding where there are meetings or possible CEUs. Please post this information on the website to draw in interested people. I would also like us to share the info for our Facebook pages on the website. That way we are easy to find and contact!
Third, any chapter scheduled to host spring or fall conferences were to get the dates turned in by the fall conference. We are planning to send out a save the dates postcard and want to include as many dates as possible. When you see that, mark your calendars!
Last, I want to let everyone know that due to health issues, I am unable to fulfill my delegate responsibilities. It has been arranged for the alternates to shift up a place and the top 6 will be going. This was decided a while ago so tickets could be purchased at a lower price. I am working with Dawn to share some responsibilities and plan to remain as President for my full term. Thank you for understanding!
Meeting will be on September 17th in Elk River. Dawn will send out the details soon. She will be leading this meeting and delegate questions should be directed to her. Have your packet in a 3 ring binder and review your packet before the meeting on the 17th. Be ready to discuss the items to be voted on. Bring your travel information with to share with the others. You MUST show your original AAMA card to enter the HOD this year! If you do not have this, please contact the AAMA right away. I will miss being there with all of you. Represent us well!
Respectfully submitted by your President, Charlene Metzer
